The Stag of the Manor, Fire Sculpture for community Bonfire Event

Fire sculpture for Manor and Castle Development Trust’s Annual Bonfire event organized by the team at Green Estate, Sheffield. Once upon a time the Manor was a deer estate and so the idea of a majestic stag standing over all who dared to come was born. Bringing some of the Burning Man asethetic into the dark peak winter, and designed to burn from the antlers down and the heart out. The entire sculpture was made from transportation packaging – the wooden bearers and stickers we get with our timber deliveries from the sawmill and broken up scrap pallets from deliveries of other materials. Over twenty person days of creativity went into the construction, a a few more into the design, all happily gone up in fire and smoke within an hour. Over 5500 people dared to come and were also treated to a spectacular firework show on a rare fine November day.
