Aberfan Park Onion Shelter

Green-roofed Onion Shelter for Aberfan Park. The park, sandwiched between local schools has been brought back into use, and saved from becoming a car park by Myther Tydfil County Council Biodiversity Officers Gill Hampson and Tom Bramley. With the help of local volunteers a bramble forest was cleared, paths created and lots of fruit trees and bushes planted along with musical play features. The Onion Shelter being the final addition to a local jewel. As with its larger sibling the Greenfoofed Onion with curvy cladding and a metal base is now the standard offer for this shelter. On its way to Wales we took a long cut and put it up at the Future Spaces show at London Excel for a few days.

Thanks to Gill and Andy Dix for helping us with the installation.
